 Saturday, October 25, 2008 10:00am- 2:00pm Armory Park Center 220 S. 5th Avenue The Naturalization Fair is a free event to assist legal permanent residents who qualify for citizenship to apply. Volunteers process the applications, immigration attorneys review, and folks are on their way to becoming U.S. citizens.

The application process for U.S. Citizenship can be an intimidating experience for many people-- the form is long and tedious, and because of this, many individuals choose not to begin the process toward naturalization.
Derechos Humanos is leading this community effort to help legal permanent residents fill out the application to beging the citizenship process.
We are in need of processors, interpreters, runners, etc.-- Spanish fluency is very helpful, but not required.

------------------------------- Derechos Humanos is committed to facilitating the access to power that is often denied to individuals who are not citizens. Our naturalization/citizenship fairs assist community members begin the citizenship process. It has been estimated that there are thousands of legal permanent residents statewide who qualify to begin the citizenship process but have not done so. This is often because the application process is so intimidating, and people aren't exactly sure where to go. Citizenship fairs are where volunteer processors and immigration attorneys assist legal permanent residents who qualify for naturalization to fill out the required forms, provide a safe, free space for individuals to seek help and advice. In this way, individuals will be able to participate more fully in the political process, as well as securing additional protection for their families. If you would like to help as a processor or volunteer at the next citizenship fair, please contact us now! If you would like to sign up to begin the naturalization process at the next citizenship fair, call the Derechos Humanos office at 520.770.1373. Requirements and information you must bring on the day of the fair include:
| [] | Be a legal permanent resident for at least 5 years, or 3 years if married to an American citizen or if you have served 3 years in the US military | | [] | Have your alien card (mica), Social Security Card, state ID or driver's license | | [] | List of places you have traveled to during the past 5 years, including: month, day and year of travel | | [] | List of where you have lived and worked for the past 5 years | | [] | Information about your spouse: name, date of birth, date of marriage, Social Security number, alien number and/or date of naturalization (if applicable) | | [] | Information about your children: address, name, date of birth and alien number (if applicable) | | [] | Information about previous marriages: name of former spouse, date of marriage, date the marriage ended and reason for the divorce (if applicable) | | [] | Information about any arrests: reason for the arrest, date, place and disposition (if applicable) | | [] | For men only: Selective Service number and date of registration | | [] | A check or money order for $400 made out to the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) | | [] | Two passport-style photos (photographs available at the Citizenship Fair for $10) | |

Coalición de Derechos Humanos and Tucson International Alliance of Refugee Communities with American Immigration Lawyers' Association invite you to a: Refugee Green Card Fair Saturday, August 15, 2009 10:00am to 2:00pm

The Green Card Fair is a free event to assist refugees who qualify for green cards to apply. Volunteers process the applications, immigration attorneys review, and folks are on their way to becoming legal permanent residents - Requirements and information you must bring on the day of the fair include: Be a refugee for at least one year
- Have your I-94 and know your arrival date
- List of where you have lived and worked for the past 5 years
- Information about your spouse: name, date of birth, date of marriage, Social Security number, alien number
- Information about your children: address, name, date of birth and alien number
- Information about previous spouses: birth dates, date and place of previous marriage, date and place of termination.
- Name of father and mother
- List of any organizations to which you have belonged
- Information about any arrests: reason for the arrest, date, place and disposition (if applicable)
- Two passport-style photos (photographs available at the Fair for $10)
- Sealed vaccination update from civil surgeon
